Giving Back

Why we give back

This marketplace exists because of the incredible work behind Godot and Redot. Without these engines - and without the open-source ecosystem around them - there would be no reason for this platform to exist. That’s why “Giving Back” isn’t a marketing slogan for us. It’s part of the foundation.

Our commitment

We commit to donating a portion of our platform revenue back to the ecosystem that makes it all possible. Our long-term goal is to support:

  • Engine development (core features, stability, performance, tooling)
  • Infrastructure & community (documentation, events, learning materials, community programs)
  • Open-source maintainers whose work is essential for Godot/Redot workflows

How donations are determined

The exact amount and allocation may vary depending on marketplace performance and sales activity. We want this to be sustainable: donations should scale with growth and remain realistic long-term. We will evaluate contributions based on factors such as:

  • overall platform revenue and operating costs,
  • sales volume across different categories (assets, tools, services),
  • major releases and priorities in the ecosystem,
  • opportunities where support has the highest real impact.

Where the money goes

Our intention is to support the ecosystems behind both engines. Depending on current needs and impact, donations may go to:

  • Godot-related funding (e.g., official funding programs and community initiatives),
  • Redot-related ecosystem support (where applicable and meaningful),
  • open-source tools and maintainers that directly benefit the Godot/Redot workflows.

This marketplace is independent and fan-made - so donations are our way of returning value to the projects and people who make our work possible.

Transparency

We want to be open about this commitment. Instead of promising fixed numbers we can’t responsibly guarantee yet, we will publish periodic updates that summarize:

  • when a donation was made,
  • which project(s) or initiative(s) were supported,
  • what the contribution was intended to help with,
  • and how marketplace growth influences future support.

These updates will be posted on our blog as “Giving Back” reports.

Built by the community, for the community

Our role is to provide a stable place where creators can thrive - and to keep strengthening the foundations underneath. If you buy an asset here, publish your work, or contribute in any way, you’re helping grow a healthier ecosystem for everyone.

Thank you for supporting creators, open-source, and the engines that power our community.
